From today, traffic fines will be issued using AI-powered traffic signals at 26 major junctions across Goa. Although these smart signals were activated on July 15, the authorities were not issuing fines until now. Starting today, official traffic challans will be issued automatically.

The project was originally set to launch on July 1, but it was postponed to July 15. After a trial period without penalties, full enforcement with fines is now active across all 26 designated locations.

Currently, these smart signals are operational at key junctions including Merces Junction, Verna Birla Cross Junction, Navelim Belem Junction, Margao Old Market Circle, Fatorda Junction, Nuvem Tata Showroom Junction, Nuvem Goa Ceramics Junction, Gorvotti and Nuvem Bypass Junction, Arlem Circle, Ghogol Boleshem Circle, and the Loutolim Missing Link. Additionally, they are active at Margao Navelim Junction, Margao Power House Circle, Margao Munj Vihar Circle, Verna Titan, IFB, and Ravi Cafe junctions, as well as Vasco VP Chicalim Junction. Coverage also extends to Betalbatim, Colva Green House, Benaulim Maria Hall, Curchorem Ambedkar Circle, and Mapusa Tar Bastora, Acoi Village, and Duler junctions.
