Goa Police has a crucial deadline to keep while cracking the Porvorim shootout case and they are yet to reach anywhere close to it.

48 hours after the incident the police have not been able to make any disclosure regarding the motive behind the attack or the identity of the shooters.

And the deadline they need to keep is a very important one.

The 3-day assembly session is starting from tomorrow and the opposition is all set to make a big issue of the incident.

Goa police need to present something tangible before that but the time is fast running out

“We have deployed 5 teams to apprehend the suspects. They are working relentlessly. We hope to get some results soon," a senior police officer told Prudent.

Opposition is already in an aggressive mode on the issue. It is a perfect mix of a sensational crime - shooters, guns, gambling and a high profile personality.

"We will go to the roots of the issue. The investigation will be detailed and thorough,” insists CM.

However, the opposition feels otherwise. "This shows how badly law and order in the state has deteriorated," leader of opposition Yuri Alemao emphasizes.

The case has posed a very strong challenge before the police. The crime took place opposite North Goa Police HQ, it happened within the 500 mt radius of Goa Legislative Assembly and the High Court and the shooters are clearly visible on the CCTV footage.

Goa Police need to crack this case sooner as the deadline is now just 12 hours away.
