Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has said that the Goa Assembly elections are likely to be held in February 2027, with the final schedule and polling dates to be announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Speaking to the media after the Cabinet meeting, CM Sawant said the election schedule would be decided by the ECI.
The term of the 8th Goa Legislative Assembly ends in March 2027, making February a likely window for the elections and formation of the new government before the Assembly’s term concludes.

Meanwhile, Sawant announced that Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the Patradevi Smarak on August 25.
In another major infrastructure announcement, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the Porvorim–Guirim elevated corridor on September 10.
