As many as 183 children were reported missing in Goa between 2024 and 2026, according to police data, highlighting the need for continued vigilance over child safety.
Police data also shows that 186 missing children were traced over the past 10 years.
Interestingly, the number of children traced is higher than the number reported missing during the 2024–2026 period, as some of the traced cases relate to children who had gone missing before 2016.
The police have been carrying forward records of missing children dating back to 1953. According to the data, only 28 children remain untraced from these long-pending cases.
