Former Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal has approached the Supreme Court challenging his conviction and 10-year prison sentence in the 2013 rape case involving a junior female colleague.

Tejpal has filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) before the Supreme Court against the High Court judgment dated August 6, which convicted him and sentenced him to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment.

The case relates to allegations that Tejpal raped a junior female colleague in 2013. The latest legal move seeks to challenge the High Court's verdict and sentence before the country's apex court. The matter will now be considered by the Supreme Court.
