The Congress on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the BJP government, alleging that casinos have been promoted in Goa in the name of tourism, leading to growing congestion and parking problems.

Congress leaders claimed that the situation has reached a stage where finding space to park vehicles on the roads has become increasingly difficult.
Taking a swipe at the BJP, the Congress said that if the party returns to power, it would not be surprising if a casino were to be opened even in the basement of the newly constructed BJP Bhavan.
The party also questioned the BJP's alleged financial links with the casino industry and demanded that it publicly disclose the amount of donations it has received from casino operators.
