A court has granted bail to Goa Forward leaders Meshu D’Costa and Dattaraj Raut Dessai in connection with an FIR alleging confrontation, threats and obstruction of police personnel while they were on duty at the Sanguem Police Station.

The two leaders had been involved in an argument with the Police Inspector at the police station in connection with the matter.

Speaking to the media, the Police Inspector said that police personnel are public servants and that anyone having grievances should approach senior police authorities through the proper channel.

The officer appealed to citizens to maintain decorum while interacting with police personnel at police stations and refrain from using arrogant or inappropriate language.

He said that citizens have every right to raise grievances, but such concerns should be addressed respectfully and through lawful procedures.
