Cortalim Congress leader Mahesh Nadar has raised concerns over the alleged poor condition of washroom facilities at the new cyclone shelter in Zuarinagar, claiming that the toilets at the facility have remained non-functional since 2022.

Nadar alleged that despite the cyclone shelter being used for various functions, with the panchayat collecting charges for such events, basic amenities at the venue have not been properly maintained.

He said the lack of water and functional toilets was causing particular hardship to women and children visiting the facility.

"The MLA Anton Vas and the panchayat have failed miserably, leaving women and children facing severe hardship with no water in the toilets," Nadar said.

Nadar questioned the authorities over the continued failure to restore the washroom facilities and urged the concerned MLA and panchayat to address the issue and ensure that the cyclone shelter has basic amenities for residents using the facility.
