Large quantities of debris, including roofing sheets, plastic bottles and other waste, have washed ashore at Candolim Beach, raising serious safety concerns for tourists and local residents alike.

Candolim Sarpanch Lawrence Silveira alleged that beach cleaning is not being carried out effectively, allowing hazardous waste to accumulate along one of Goa's busiest tourist beaches.
He also called for stricter enforcement against tourists carrying glass bottles and other litter onto the beach, urging the police to intensify checks to prevent accidents and curb irresponsible behaviour.
