The Bombay High Court at Goa has permitted the Goa government to relocate the remaining cattle from the Zambaulim Gaushala after the petitioner, Dhyan Foundation, failed to submit a rehabilitation and shifting plan sought by the Court.
During the hearing, the Court noted that despite being given an opportunity, Dhyan Foundation did not place a concrete plan on record regarding the relocation of the remaining cattle.
In view of this, the High Court granted the government permission to proceed with shifting the remaining 25 cattle. The Court directed the authorities to ensure that the relocation is carried out in a proper and humane manner.
The government has also been instructed to file a compliance report before the Court after completing the relocation process.
The matter has been posted for further hearing on Monday.
