Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday held discussions with residents and activists from Karapur-Sarvan over their three demands concerning the proposed H.A. Abhinandan Lodha project at Karapur, assuring them that the government would examine the issues and explore a solution within the legal framework.
The meeting was held at Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali, where villagers and activists raised their concerns over the proposed project. Sawant said officials had been directed to conduct a detailed legal examination of the issues and take an appropriate decision based on their findings.
“We cannot immediately stop a project, but I have directed officials to conduct a detailed legal study and take a decision accordingly,” Sawant said.
The Chief Minister described the discussion with the villagers as positive and said the concerns raised would be examined at the government level. Officials have been asked to look into the three demands and work towards resolving the issues in accordance with applicable laws.
Karapur-Sarvan residents and activists had gathered at Sankhali Ravindra Bhavan seeking clarity and intervention from the government over the proposed Lodha project. The meeting is expected to pave the way for further examination of their concerns by the authorities.
