he Goa government will begin the rollout of its three-free-LPG-cylinder scheme from September 5, with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announcing that application forms will be made available through panchayats and local MLAs.
Sawant said beneficiaries who complete the application process and submit the required documents will start receiving ₹3,000 directly in their bank accounts from September 9.
“The forms to avail three free cylinders will be available in panchayats and with local MLAs from September 5. From September 9, beneficiaries will start getting ₹3,000 in their bank accounts,” Sawant said while addressing an event in Panaji.
The scheme is aimed at fulfilling a key promise made by the BJP-led government during the 2022 Assembly elections to provide three free LPG cylinders to eligible beneficiaries.
Applicants will have to submit copies of their bank passbook, Aadhaar card and voter identity card along with the application.
The Chief Minister said the ₹3,000 financial assistance would cover the cost of three LPG cylinders for eligible beneficiaries under the scheme, marking the beginning of the government’s implementation of the poll promise.
