Former GPCC President Amit Patkar has rejected allegations by GPCC Chief Girish Chodankar that he was invited to the Congress Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting chaired by AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge.

Patkar had earlier questioned his absence from the meeting, stating that he had not received an invitation. Chodankar subsequently claimed that the Congress had evidence showing that Patkar was invited.

According to Chodankar, Congress Working President M.K. Sheikh had contacted Patkar by phone and also sent him a WhatsApp message inviting him to attend the PAC meeting.

Patkar, however, disputed the claim and said he had never received any message from Sheikh.

Responding to the WhatsApp screenshot circulated by the Congress leadership, Patkar pointed out that it showed only a single tick. He said this indicated that the message had not been delivered to his phone.

Patkar questioned why, if his presence at the PAC meeting was considered important, he was not contacted directly to ensure that he received the invitation.

He also accused Chodankar of making allegations publicly without first verifying whether the message had actually reached him.
