:In view of the omission of several voters from the electoral roll following the SIR, the High Court questioned the Election Commission of India as to how the SIR exercise subserves its intended purpose. The ECI replied that petitioner Paresh Salgaokar and other eligible persons whose names have not been included in the final electoral roll can still file Form 6. Their applications will be processed, and their names can be added to the supplementary roll even today.
