Around 30,000 Form 6 applications for voter enrolment have been received in Goa, with data available up to September 30, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sanjay Goel said.
The applications include enrolment requests from new and first-time eligible voters. However, Goel said it is difficult to ascertain how many voters whose names were deleted following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) have reapplied through Form 6.
Goel reiterated that every eligible citizen has the right to vote and urged eligible voters to ensure that their names are included in the electoral roll.
He also clarified that under the new rules, self-declaration is not mandatory for new voters applying for enrolment.
The Form 6 applications are part of the ongoing process of continuous updation of the electoral rolls.
