Goa Forward Party president Vijai Sardesai said alliance talks with the Congress remain suspended, with any decision on the matter to be taken by his party.

Rejecting Congress’ appeal for an alliance, Sardesai said public sentiment was against such a tie-up and alleged that Congress could repeat instances of defections.

Sardesai also announced that the “Jai Gaon Tai Havn” campaign will begin tomorrow across five constituencies in the Kushavati district.

Meanwhile, RGP chief Viriesh Borkar said his party has been invited by the Congress for alliance talks. He said discussions are currently underway, while a decision on a Common Minimum Programme (CMP) and seat-sharing will be taken after RGP completes its internal restructuring ahead of the Assembly elections.
