Huge police force deployed at site  •  Delhi police have detained Abhijit Dipke, Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and Dhruv Rathee as they were preparing to participate in the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar demanding resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar  •  Autopsy findings have confirmed that actor Nana Patekar, 75, died of an acute myocardial infarction due to left main coronary artery thrombosis secondary to atherosclerotic occlusive coronary artery disease, a natural cause of death. He was declared brought dead at Manipal Hospital, Dona Paula, on October 8. Family members have expressed no suspicion of foul play.  •  Old Goa Police, in a joint operation with Sawantwadi Police, traced and apprehended two accused, Dipraj Govekar and Sahil Diwarkar, in connection with a murder case.The victim, Azim Khan, a native of UP working at a shawarma café in Old Goa, was allegedly assaulted over workplace differences. His body was later found dumped in a forest area near Malgaon railway station in Sawantwadi.  •  ARZ has been appointed under Section 15(6A) of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITPA) to assist police in rescuing sex trafficking victims. The provision safeguards women and girls during searches and interrogation by requiring the presence of women police officers or, where necessary, a representative of a recognised welfare organisation.  •  The National Green Tribunal, Western Zone Bench has stayed the Environmental and Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance granted to the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) for a major channel deepening project in Goa citing "Copied and Pasted" Conditions. The tribunal's order, halts the operation of the July 21, 2025 clearance until the next hearing on November 2, 2026.  •  The High Court has granted conditional bail to Birendar Kumar, the prime accused in the 2021 armed kidnapping of a Thivim-based businessman for a Rs 1 crore ransom.  •  AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal announced six guarantees for Goa; 24/7 electricity & 300 units free; Rs 3,000/month for every woman; Rs10 lakh health insurance for every family; Scrap Section 39A within a month; Free bus travel for all women & Sports ground in every village  •  The High Court has quashed and set aside the final delimitation notification dated 9 September issued by Goa State Election Commission for 11 municipal councils across the state. Consequently, the High Court has advanced the municipal election schedule, setting February 19, 2027, as the revised date for notifying the Municipalities' elections.  •  Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s scheduled Goa visit on October 12 for the Gõy Rakhonn Yatra has been postponed amid INDIA bloc protests over alleged ‘Vote Chori’ by the RSS-BJP-ECI nexus.
