Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has assured a thorough investigation into the alleged fake Excise Commissioner appointment scam, warning that strict action will be taken against the accused, including sealing his property.

Sawant also said action would be taken against the police superintendent concerned if found involved in the case.

Expressing concern over educated people falling prey to such frauds, the Chief Minister termed it unfortunate and stressed the need for people to exercise caution before trusting claims of government appointments.

The case came to light after a man allegedly approached the Excise Department claiming to have been appointed as Excise Commissioner and produced a fake appointment order. The matter was subsequently handed over to the police for investigation.
