Goa Cabinet has decided to shift the proposed barrage and 50 MLD raw water pumping station from Mirabag to Panchwadi.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced the decision after the Cabinet meeting, confirming that the project, which was earlier planned at Mirabag, will now be relocated to Panchwadi.

The project had faced strong resistance from Mirabag residents, who staged large-scale protests opposing its construction. Following the public agitation, work on the project was stopped.

The Cabinet has now decided to shift the proposed infrastructure to Panchwadi. The project includes a barrage and a raw water pumping station with a capacity of 50 MLD.
