Former Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar’s visit to the newly constructed BJP Bhavan at Old Goa’s Kadamba Plateau has sparked fresh political speculation ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.

Parsekar visited the new BJP office during religious rituals held ahead of the formal inauguration of the building. Reacting to his visit, the former Chief Minister said he felt like he had returned to his own home.

Parsekar had kept his distance from the BJP after being denied the party’s Assembly ticket in the 2022 elections. His renewed presence at the BJP’s new office has now triggered speculation over whether he could reconnect with the party ahead of the 2027 polls.

Political attention is particularly focused on the Mandrem constituency, where competing equations are already being discussed. There is speculation over the possibility of sitting MGP MLA Jit Arolkar joining the BJP, while BJP leader Dayanand Sopte and Parsekar are also being discussed in connection with the constituency.

Asked about the political developments, Arolkar said everyone was united and that the focus should remain on working together. He pointed out that the BJP-led alliance government is currently in power in the state.
