Congress leader Rahul Mhambre has questioned the government's claim of 7.8% GDP growth in the first quarter, claiming that the actual growth rate was only 2.6%.
Mhambre also alleged that the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) is converting industrial land for commercial use under provisions of the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Act.
Raising the issue of LPG expenses, Mhambre demanded that ₹15,000 be credited to the account of every Goan towards the cost of 12 LPG cylinders used over the past four years.
He said the government should provide financial relief to citizens in view of the expenses incurred on LPG cylinders.
Mhambre's remarks come amid his criticism of the government's economic and land-use policies in the state.
