Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has assured beneficiaries of the Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSS) and Griha Aadhar Scheme that the government will “100%” enhance the benefits under both schemes soon.

Speaking about the two flagship welfare schemes, Sawant said they have now completed 12 years and that the government is working towards increasing the assistance provided to beneficiaries. He said the enhanced benefits would be implemented in the coming days.

The announcement is expected to bring relief to thousands of beneficiaries dependent on the two schemes for financial support.

Meanwhile, the state government has also cleared a proposal for sponsorship towards the 4th World Ocean Science Congress, with POSCO agreeing to provide sponsorship for the event.

In another decision, the government approved the allocation of 4,401 square metres of land to the Department of Archaeology for departmental use.
