The Government of India has notified the schedule for the 2027 Census, with population enumeration in Goa set to be conducted from December 1, 2026, to January 4, 2027.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on September 5, Goa will also have a revisional round from January 5 to 9, 2027. The reference date for the Census in Goa has been fixed as 00.00 hours on January 5, 2027.
The notification also provides citizens with an option for self-enumeration from November 16 to 30, 2026, before the commencement of the house-to-house population enumeration.
The Census 2027 exercise will be carried out across Goa along with Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and non-snow-bound areas of Uttarakhand during the notified period.
The Central Government has separately declared that the population Census of India will be conducted during 2027, with Goa among the states having January 5, 2027, as its reference date.
