A complaint has been filed seeking the registration of an FIR against Rohidas L. Naik, Shrikrishna Haldankar, Tarak Arolkar, Charudatt Panjikar, Avinash Shirodkar and others over alleged offences including cheating, criminal breach of trust, criminal conspiracy, misrepresentation and misuse of the name of the Gomantak Bhandari Samaj.

The complaint also alleges irregularities in the collection and utilisation of donations for activities conducted in the name of the Gomantak Bhandari Samaj and seeks action under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly collected donations and utilised funds without proper authorisation, causing financial and reputational harm to the society. The complainant has urged the police to investigate the alleged irregularities and initiate criminal proceedings against those responsible.

Meanwhile, Gomantak Bhandari Samaj Administrator Sakharam V. Naik, in a formal reply to a legal notice concerning the Scholarship and Felicitation Programme, said the issues raised have been examined.

Naik stated that, as the duly appointed Administrator of the Gomantak Bhandari Samaj, he is duty-bound to safeguard the interests of the society and its members. He assured that appropriate steps would be taken in accordance with law to protect the organisation and ensure transparency in its functioning.

The matter is expected to be examined by the concerned authorities based on the complaint and the documents submitted.
