The Goa Fire and Emergency Services Department has begun the process of implementing third-party fire safety inspections, Director Nitin Raikar said on Tuesday.
Raikar said agencies are currently being trained on inspection procedures. Once the training is completed, they will be empanelled and authorised to conduct inspections for the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs). He added that the empanelment of several agencies is still underway.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant flagged off 10 new fire tenders and eight motorcycles, which have been inducted into the Goa Fire and Emergency Services fleet to strengthen emergency response and firefighting capabilities across the state.
