Seven buffaloes died after reportedly coming into contact with an electric current at Santamoddi, Chinchinim, leaving local farmers facing losses estimated at around ₹7–8 lakh.
According to the affected farmers, they had repeatedly complained to the Electricity Department about faults in the power lines in the area. However, they allege that the issue was not addressed despite their complaints.
The farmers said the incident has left them under severe financial and emotional stress, as the buffaloes were an important source of their livelihood.
