Janmashtami, marking the birth of Lord Krishna, was celebrated with religious fervour and devotion across Goa on Friday, with temples and communities organising special prayers, rituals and cultural programmes.
Devotees gathered at temples from the morning to offer prayers and seek blessings, while special pujas, bhajans and devotional programmes were held as part of the celebrations. Temples were decorated for the occasion, with devotees observing the festival through traditional rituals and offerings.
Several communities also organised celebrations featuring Krishna-themed decorations, devotional singing and cultural performances. Children dressed as Lord Krishna and Radha added to the festive atmosphere at various celebrations across the state.
