The Goa Animal Federation has challenged the accuracy of the dog-bite statistics recently presented in the State Legislative Assembly. Shweta Sardessai, the Secretary of the Federation, stated that the numbers tabled by the government are completely incorrect.

According to Sardessai, a person who is bitten by a dog typically requires a full course of five rabies vaccination doses. She explained that the data presented in the Assembly appears to show the total number of individual vaccine doses administered rather than the actual number of dog-bite victims.
