BJP MLA Nilesh Cabral has made a strong statement about his political future, saying that even if the BJP offers him a ticket, he will have to think about whether to accept it or not, while ultimately the people will decide his future.
Speaking on Prudent’s Head On, Cabral said a “BJP versus BJP” situation has emerged in several constituencies, calling it an unhealthy development for the party.
He said the BJP has changed significantly over the last 10 years, with leaders from other parties being inducted into the Cabinet while loyal party workers and sitting MLAs have been overlooked.
Cabral also said he had given up his Cabinet position for MLA Aleixo, but there was no reconsideration later. He questioned why loyal MLAs were being kept away from the Cabinet and even denied positions in government corporations.
Taking a direct swipe at his critics, Cabral also alleged that those who had opposed the Porvorim flyover are now trying to take credit for the project.
