Once a symbol of Goa’s rich history, the centuries-old Colvale Fort now stands neglected, with overgrown vegetation and collapsed walls raising concerns over the safety and preservation of the historic structure.

The historic fort has gradually become difficult to access, with thick vegetation taking over parts of the premises. Several sections of the fort walls have also collapsed, leaving visitors with little to explore and raising questions over the lack of regular maintenance.

For tourists and locals interested in Goa’s history, the condition of the fort is a disappointing sight. What could have been a well-maintained heritage attraction now appears to be slowly disappearing beneath overgrowth and rubble.

The deteriorating condition also poses challenges for those attempting to enter the fort, as overgrown trees and damaged sections make movement difficult and potentially unsafe.
