Environmental activist Rajendra Kerkar has urged the Water Resources Department (WRD) to take immediate measures to prevent a possible water shortage in Goa.

Kerkar said the gates and plates of dams built across Goa’s rivers should be raised to ensure adequate water storage and regulate the flow for the coming months.
He warned that failure to take timely measures could lead to water scarcity and put Goans through difficult days ahead.
Kerkar called on the WRD Department to act proactively and ensure that available water resources are properly conserved and managed.
