With Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations approaching, coconut prices have started rising across Goa, raising concerns among consumers ahead of the festival.

Coconut is an essential part of Chavath celebrations in Goa, and the increase in prices has become a talking point in local markets. Sellers are quoting different rates depending on the size and quality of the coconuts.
Wholesale coconut traders said coconuts sourced from plantations and yards are available at comparatively lower rates, with prices outside Goa reportedly around ₹60 per coconut.
At present, there is no fixed price cap on coconuts in the retail market, allowing prices to vary from one seller to another.
However, wholesale coconut sellers have appealed to consumers not to panic or rush to stock up, assuring that coconut prices are unlikely to rise further in the coming days.
