MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar has called on political parties in Goa to stop favouring leaders who repeatedly change political affiliations and instead give deserving party workers a fair chance to contest elections. He said those who have spent years strengthening their organisations should not be pushed aside to accommodate newcomers seeking political opportunities.

Speaking to the media, Dhavalikar said the issue of rewarding political defectors needed serious consideration ahead of the next Assembly elections. He argued that parties must recognise the commitment of grassroots workers rather than prioritise individuals who switch loyalties whenever it suits their political interests.

He also stressed that maintaining discipline within political organisations requires strong leadership and the willingness to act against indiscipline. Dhavalikar pointed out that he has remained with his party since 1994, asserting that his political journey has not been driven simply by the ambition to secure power.

On the BJP-MGP alliance, Dhavalikar maintained that his party has no intention of withdrawing from the arrangement and remains committed to working towards good governance. He clarified that discussions on seat-sharing would be held in Delhi, with the party abiding by the final decision.

However, the MGP leader made his position on Mandrem clear, firmly asserting that the constituency belongs to his party. Asked about Ponda, he indicated that the MGP would seek representation in multiple constituencies across Goa.
