Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has directed the South Goa Collector to take immediate action against officials allegedly demanding bribes to process mutation files, warning that those found involved in corruption would face strict disciplinary action, including suspension or termination.
The direction follows allegations raised by the South Goa Advocates Association regarding demands for bribes to clear mutation cases. Sawant said show-cause notices had been issued to officials wherever necessary and stressed that the government would not tolerate corruption or malpractice.
Cautioning government employees against engaging in corrupt practices, the Chief Minister said any official found accepting bribes or indulging in misconduct would face strict consequences. He maintained that the government would act firmly whenever instances of corruption came to his notice.
Meanwhile, South Goa Collector Egna Cleetus (IAS) has directed all Mamlatdars and Joint Mamlatdars to attend office on Saturday afternoon, October 17, to clear pending Form XIII mutation cases.
