National Congress leader Sachin Pilot has raised serious allegations against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, drawing a direct parallel between past policy moves and current electoral rolls by describing it as "Note Bandi then, Vote Bandi now." Speaking on the issue, Pilot pointed out that while population growth naturally leads to an increase in registered voters, the overall voter count in the country has unexpectedly declined for the first time, a trend he attributes directly to flaws and irregularities in the ongoing SIR procedure.

Focusing on the local impact, Pilot highlighted that over 1,70,000 individuals have been removed from the voter lists in Goa alone, while an estimated 13 crore voters across the nation have effectively been disenfranchised. He questioned the credibility of the entire voter list revision exercise, claiming that legitimate citizens are losing their fundamental right to vote under the guise of the SIR process.
