Congress leader and AICC general secretary Sachin Pilot has claimed that the Congress will secure a majority in the upcoming February Assembly elections, asserting that people are tired of the BJP government.

Addressing party workers, Pilot alleged that the BJP seeks electoral support by dividing people along religious, caste and linguistic lines. He said the Congress would focus on issues affecting people rather than such divisions.

Pilot also alleged a “complete collapse” of law and order in Goa and raised concerns over voter deletions following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). He claimed that around 1.7 lakh voters had been deleted in Goa after the SIR and further alleged that crores of voters had been removed from electoral rolls across India.

The Congress leader also alleged that Goa has “two types of laws” — one for powerful people and another for ordinary local Goans. He claimed that influential individuals are able to come out of jail quickly, while ordinary citizens face a different experience of the law.

Pilot further said that despite the presence of several opposition parties in Goa, Congress workers were the ones visibly working on the ground and reaching out to people.
