Cortalim MLA Anton Vas, along with social worker Roquizinho D’Souza and railway officials, conducted an inspection of the Velsao access issue.
Responding to criticism over his stand on the issue, Vas said people should not be misled and urged all concerned to focus on the genuine demand for access.
“Why misguide people? Let’s talk about the access issue, which is genuine. Don’t bring the double-tracking issue in between,” Vas said.
Vas maintained that he too believes the demand for access is genuine and should be fulfilled. However, he said a solution can only be found when all stakeholders come together and hold discussions.
Stressing the need for dialogue, Vas said the issue should be resolved through talks rather than a show of strength, keeping the interests of local residents in mind.
He appealed to all stakeholders to come together and work towards a practical solution to the Velsao access issue.
