Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Working President Sunil Kawthankar has accused the BJP-led state government of misleading the public over its borrowing position, alleging that the government raised a loan of ₹700 crore soon after the Assembly session concluded.
Kawthankar claimed that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had informed the House that the Goa government had not taken any loans during the period under discussion. He alleged that the subsequent borrowing of ₹700 crore raised questions about the government’s financial position and its statements in the Assembly.
Targeting the BJP government, Kawthankar accused it of pushing Goa towards a financial crisis. He questioned the state’s borrowing practices and raised concerns over the implications of the alleged loan for Goa’s finances.
