Goa welcomed the first Russian charter flight of the 2026–27 tourism season, with an Aeroflot flight from Ekaterinburg arriving at Dabolim International Airport on Wednesday morning.
Passengers were welcomed by Protocol Minister Mauvin Godinho, who stressed the need to protect existing passenger traffic at Dabolim Airport.
Godinho said traffic currently coming to Dabolim should not be “cannibalised” by private players. He urged airlines and operators to focus on adding new destinations rather than shifting existing passenger traffic from Dabolim.
He said both Dabolim and Mopa airports should operate in a healthy manner, stressing that this would be important for Goa’s economy and its people.
