GPCC Working President Sunil Kawthankar has questioned Goa’s law-and-order situation following the recent firing incident involving a casino director and businessman.

Kawthankar said the incident took place barely 100 metres from the North Goa SP’s office and near the Assembly complex, yet the alleged shooter managed to escape from the scene.

He questioned the state’s security arrangements and raised concerns over the functioning of the BJP government’s police machinery, asking how an armed assailant could carry out such an incident in a high-security area and flee without being immediately apprehended.

Kawthankar said the incident raises serious questions about the effectiveness of policing and security arrangements in the state.
