Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Goa witnessed a meeting that has sparked fresh political speculation, with Zilla Panchayat (ZP) members from Congress, Goa Forward and AAP calling on former GPCC president Amit Patkar at his Curchorem residence.
ZP members from Colva, Benaulim, Nuvem, Curtorim, Raia and Sirsai visited Patkar’s residence to extend their festive greetings during the celebrations.
However, the presence of elected representatives associated with three opposition parties under one roof has caught political attention, particularly at a time when discussions over opposition unity and possible political understandings ahead of the 2027 Goa Assembly elections are gaining momentum.
The meeting has fuelled speculation within political circles over whether the gathering was purely a festive courtesy call or could signal greater coordination among opposition leaders.
