Bank employees and officers under the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) will observe a one-day nationwide strike on September 11, 2026, demanding the immediate implementation of a five-day banking week and withdrawal of the Performance Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.

The UFBU has warned of further industrial action if its demands are not addressed.

According to the union, bank employees will observe a three-day nationwide strike from September 28 to 30, followed by an indefinite strike from October 26 if the issues remain unresolved.

The proposed strikes are expected to impact banking services across the country, with employees and officers pressing for changes in working arrangements and opposing the PLI scheme.
