Goa Congress Chief Girish Chodankar has termed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and the draft electoral roll published by the Election Commission of India (ECI) as “illegal, fraudulent and unconstitutional,” alleging that nearly 10% of Goan voters have been deleted from the electoral roll.

Chodankar argued that elections should be conducted using the last legally prepared electoral roll dated January 1, 2025, which was updated on January 6, 2025. He alleged that preparing a fresh draft electoral roll without following the legally prescribed procedure amounts to a fraud on the Constitution of India.
Demanding the restoration of 1,39,634 deleted voters, Chodankar maintained that the electoral roll must be prepared in accordance with the law and that eligible voters should not be deprived of their democratic rights.A
