Renowned Konkani singer, musician, and composer Henry D’Souza passed away in Mumbai on Friday at the age of 83 due to age-related ailments. Born in 1943 in Basarikatte, Chikkamagaluru district, Karnataka, D’Souza moved to Mumbai in 1965, where he established his music career. He became widely celebrated for evergreen iconic hits like "Ye Ye Katrina" and "Ami Dogee Shezari," which remain favorites among Konkani music lovers today.

Throughout his prolific career, D’Souza composed and directed over 2,000 songs, performed internationally in several countries, and rendered more than 200 Konkani tracks through Akashvani. His funeral Mass is scheduled for Sunday at 4 PM at St. Thomas Church in Goregaon East, Mumbai.

Many Goan musicians, tiatrists, and politicians have paid homage to the legendary singer Henry D'Souza, claiming that his contribution to Konkani can never be forgotten.
