The state of Goa recorded a whopping 61.38 lakh tourist arrivals between January and July 2026, with an overall growth of 0.08% compared to the corresponding period last year, according to the latest data of the Department of Tourism.

The state welcomed 59.02 lakh domestic tourists and 2.36 lakh international during the first seven months of 2026.

July 2026 recorded 6.94 lakh total tourist arrivals, with a 2.27% growth over July 2025. The data reflects the continued strength of Goa’s tourism pull.

Commenting on the tourist arrivals, Minister for Tourism, Government of Goa, Rohan A. Khaunte, said: “The numbers tell us that Goa continues to remain a strong and resilient tourism destination. The growth in domestic arrivals and the positive momentum seen are encouraging. At the same time, we are looking beyond numbers and working to diversify our offerings and our markets, strengthen international connectivity and build tourism products that can attract visitors across seasons. Our objective is not just to bring more tourists to Goa, but to bring the right audiences for the experiences Goa has to offer. Wellness, heritage, MICE, adventure, nautical tourism, spiritual tourism, gastronomy and workstation are creating new reasons for tourists to visit Goa beyond the traditional beach holidays.”

The state is also intensifying efforts to expand its international tourism footprint by engaging in emerging and established source markets, while strengthening air connectivity and developing targeted tourism products.

Director of Tourism, Kedar Naik, said, “The July figures are particularly significant as they point to continued demand during the monsoon season, traditionally considered an off-peak period for Goa. The state has been actively promoting monsoon tourism and experience-led travel, encouraging visitors to explore Goa’s hinterland, culture, wellness, cuisine, nature and adventure offerings during the green season.”

With 61.38 lakh visitors already recorded in the first seven months of 2026, Goa Tourism expects the second half of the year to benefit from the upcoming festive, leisure, MICE and international travel seasons.
