The construction work on the Khorlim-Bhoma highway is scheduled to begin soon. To support the project, the contractor has cleared an area of approximately 20,000 to 25,000 square meters in Old Goa to set up a casting yard for manufacturing concrete road spans. However, the decision to establish the yard in this specific location has met with stiff opposition from the local residents.

Locals have raised serious concerns regarding the close proximity of the casting yard to residential neighborhoods. They point out that continuous industrial activity, heavy machinery operation, and severe noise pollution will disrupt daily life and create significant hardship for both the local community and students studying in the surrounding areas.
