Monsoon in Goa has reached a significant milestone as it crossed the 50 inch mark by the end of July. However, overall rainfall remains sluggish this season, trailing 34% below the seasonal average. Despite the overall deficit, continuous showers over recent days have brought strong inflows to key water reservoirs across the state, bringing relief to water management authorities and farmers.

Major reservoirs are now filling rapidly, with the Salaulim and Gavane dams officially overflowing. Storage levels at other key facilities have also surged, with Panchwadi reaching 91% capacity, Tillari at 83%, and Amthane at 82%, while Chapoli and Anjunem stand at 63% and 57% respectively. With the India Meteorological Department issuing a yellow alert for the next three days, rainfall activity is expected to continue across Goa.
