Goa is moving towards becoming a rabies-free state, with sustained vaccination and public awareness being highlighted as key measures to eliminate the deadly disease.
Mission Rabies Director Murugan Pillay said complete eradication of rabies is possible through continuous vaccination and greater public awareness.
He stressed the importance of maintaining vaccination efforts to prevent the spread of rabies and move closer to eliminating the disease from the state.
Sulakshana Pramod Sawant said the fight against rabies should begin at home. She appealed to pet owners to ensure that their dogs are given anti-rabies vaccinations on time.
The call comes as authorities and organisations continue efforts to promote responsible pet ownership, vaccination and awareness about rabies prevention across Goa.
