The Goa Agriculture Department’s primary assessment indicates that low rainfall has impacted approximately 20 hectares of paddy cultivation across the state. However, the recent rains over the past two days are expected to bring much needed relief. Agriculture Director Chandrahas Naik Dessai shared that surveys are actively underway to evaluate the full extent of the damage caused by the dry spell.

To support the impacted farming community, the state government will extend financial assistance through the Shetkari Aadhar Nidhi scheme. Under this initiative, affected farmers will be eligible for compensation of up to Rs 40,000 per hectare to help recover their losses and sustain their agricultural activities.
