Locals have urged the authorities to put a prime piece of land in the heart of Vasco city to productive use, alleging that the property, which once housed the fish market, has been lying unused and unattended for a considerable period.

Residents claim that the neglected premises have gradually become a hub for anti-social activities, raising concerns over the safety and cleanliness of the surrounding area.

Locals have also called upon the concerned authorities to immediately undertake a cleanliness drive at the site, alleging that the area has turned into a spot for open defecation and other nuisance.

They said the prime property, located in a central part of Vasco, should not be allowed to remain in a neglected condition and instead should be developed or utilised in a manner that benefits the local community.

Residents have appealed to the authorities to inspect the site, clear the accumulated waste and address the alleged anti-social activities at the earliest.
